Our Story

Choose a path,

this is how the characters of Japanese calligraphy describe the ancient Japanese wisdom . My path, which I have been following for years, is the authentic mediation of both cultures, Japan and Germany.

Origin of my way

My path began in my childhood and youth and has meandered through my life ever since, sometimes with small detours, but never losing sight of the goal.

Get the copywriting hacks that will turn your pages and content from boring to "take my money!" riveting. And yes: you can do this even if you aren't a professional copywriting geek.

Two cultures, one path

I grew up Nina Yukiko Peters in the middle of two cultures, the German and the Japanese culture, which could not be more different. Early on I found a way to communicate interculturally between the two cultures. It happened unconsciously, full of self-understanding and completely detached from any judgement. For me there were no boundaries between a low and high context culture, I accepted both cultures as they were and as they were exemplified by my parents.

Career choice according to my abilities

According to my abilities, I chose a profession that allowed me to communicate and interact with people from all over the world. I decided on a career in tourism, with classic training as a travel agent and later distance learning to become a tourism manager.

A wealth of experience

In the meantime I can look back on a wide range of experience in the tourism industry (travel agency, tour operator, airlines, cruise, trade fair, travel) all more or less related to Japan, of 19 years. In addition, I had a 7-year excursion into the world of statutory health insurance in the field of marketing & sales. It was here in particular that I became aware of the necessity of my current activity when setting up a Japan Desk.

My way into self-employment

In 2016, I founded my company Hattori-Peters Consulting and since then act in it as an entrepreneur, trainer, consultant and author. The focus of my work to this day is clearly the mediation between Japanese and German culture. From the beginning, I specialized exclusively in these two countries in order to remain authentic in all aspects.

Authenticity

In addition to extensive factual and technical information about Japan, I also include my personal experiences from work and everyday life in my consultations, online courses and trainings. This is exactly what authenticity requires in order to provide you with a better understanding of the cultures.

Yours, Nina Yukiko Peters
